Hello,

I'm new to Proxmox and I'm trying to migrate an old Fedora 38 VM from ESXi following this procedure (i.e. by using the copied vmdk image and attaching it to the VM in Proxmox). I've already migrated successfully some Slackware, Debian and Ubuntu machines in the same way. But Fedora would not boot properly. The booting starts (i.e. it is not a BIOS/UEFI issue ), but then I get:

Code:
Warning: /dev/fedora/root does not exist
Warning: /dev/fedora/swap does not exist
Warning: /dev/mapper/fedora-root does not exist

and it enters emergency mode. This is a machine that uses LVM, but I'm not sure what is the problem.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,

Try these 3 steps of emergency:
1. Force LVM activation in emergency mode
2. Switch the disk controller type
3. Rebuild the boot image
