migrate/move vm's to another namespace

Hello all.
Whenever I started this journey, better than a year ago, i created a backup job - which included all my vm's into 1 single namespace. As time has gone by, I've realized that I need different retention dates for the different vms and now am trying to determine the best way to accomplish this. Basically, instead of having, say 50 backups, of all servers - some would only need 20 and others maybe 25 - if you get my drift. I know I can create a different namespace, both locally and on the remote pbs server but how can i migrate or move those vm's over to that location and still keep - till the 'trim/prune' process works it way out? By working its self out, I'm referring to keeping the existing backups in the 'root namespace' while i create/change the backups to go to the new namespace and then after 'all' are moved, they would naturally prune themselves out.

I've created different namespaces, and my thinking is to then organizing my backups into those namespaces that I can create/manage different sync and prune jobs to better optimize my backup strategy. I think I'd seen some type of 'cli' command that would move either the whole server, or servers with specific dates associated with them but can't seem to find that now. It's kind of strange that there's not something in the GUI that would allow this process tho.

Strange but I can't seem to locate actually 'where' I created the backup jobs and told them to go into the 'default' 'root namespace'. I've checked the cluster - only shows to backup to the 'backup server'. Could it be that since there was only 1 namespace (root namespace) at the beginning, I only had 1 option and didn't realize my future dilemma? Looking at the 'local' backup server, all servers are in that 'namespace'. I've created different 'namespaces' there in advance so hopefully the steps won't be 2 difficult to move them.

thanks in advance.
