Migrate a live Linux Server to Proxmox

Hi!

How would a noob do this? The documentation at http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Migration_of_servers_to_Proxmox_VE#Alternative_Methods says: You can migrate existing servers to Proxmox VE. Moving Linux servers is always quite easy so you will not find much hints for troubleshooting here.

So how do I get this easy stuff working? Any linx, hint, or even a tutorial?

You need to make a disk copy of the orginal hard drive with dd.
(see http://askubuntu.com/a/509689 for an example)
Then the disk image is ready to be used as a raw disk image for KVM.
