Memory Hot Plug problem

Hi,
I try to hotplug memory from 4GB to 8 GB and I follow all step I found in this forum, but the problem is that there is no folder "/sys/devices/system/memory", so I can't set to "online" the new memory added.

# ls /sys/devices/system
clocksource  cpu

I've tried to load necesary modules and it faild too:

# modprobe acpiphp
# modprobe acpi_memhotplug
FATAL: Module acpi_memhotplug not found.
# modprobe pci_hotplug

Why folder "/memory" doesn't exist? How can I make it or install required module to acces it?


My VM is a Debian 7.1 VM with kernel version 3.2.0-4-486 (qemu)
ProxMox version 3.3-1

I don't think proxmox is supporting memory hot plug right now.

Hi,

it's planned for next proxmox release. (hotplug, but not unplug yet)

(I have some prelimary working patches but it need more work).
