Manage Over WiFi?

I have my server connected to WiFi but it fails to respond when I try to visit its IP. The machine doesn't respond to ping but it can ping out, download packages, etc over WiFi.

Is this expected behaviour? How can I get it to respond over WiFi?

I realise that this is separate to having VMs use the WiFi but having followed the various guides about that, I still can't access the management page so I'm left confused. I can manage it if I plug in a cable, but I want to use WiFi.

Thanks.

Hi,
I would not reconment using PVE over Wifi, you may try to check the latency of your device to the PVE host and also check the PVE server firewall if it somehow rejects ICMP.

On some Wifi access points there are settings that disable client to client communication, especially on the enterprise. This is for security purposes, open networks like in schools there don't want students be able to ping and scan each others byod devices.

So at first ensure that you can ping between two computers joined in the same wifi network.

I would also advise what jkarjanl said, try to ping your VE device. And from where are you trying to access your VE device? Is this from an internal network or an outside network?
