Make directory on the host avaiable for the guest (kvm)

Hello,

ive files on the host in /data which i need on the guest as a harddisk (CD ROm ISO will not work). Can i make these files available from the guest? Can i convert them to a vmdk file and install it on the guest as a second HDD?

Is it possible to make and img or vmdk file with this files and add the img/vmdk to the existing VM?
