I installed Proxmox Mail Gateway version 2.3-1 on Proxmox VE using openvz template. Install went fine but the login to the Gateway takes a long time (after typing username and password) then almost each menu entry I click I get "[976]ERR: 24: Error in Perl code: 500 Can't connect to localhost:83 (connect: timeout)" ( not all of them).

I'm using the free licence of PMG.

Any idea whats wrong?

Seems the management daemon is not running. And hint in the init log? How much ram did you assign?

I assigned 1GB of ram.
if I try /etc/init.d/proxdaemon start, it start and then I get "waiting for postgres server startup"

if I try to start postgres by hand I get
"Starting PostgreSQL 8.1 database server: main* The PostgreSQL server failed to start. Please check the log output:
2009-10-13 10:22:16 CEST LOG: could not bind IPv4 socket: Cannot assign requested address
2009-10-13 10:22:16 CEST HINT: Is another postmaster already running on port 5432? If not, wait a few seconds and retry.
2009-10-13 10:22:16 CEST WARNING: could not create listen socket for "localhost"
2009-10-13 10:22:16 CEST FATAL: could not create any TCP/IP sockets"

I don't have anything on port 5432.

The problem is as I mentioned above, is that if I use veth0 (bridge networking) I get the errors (see my first post). you suggested that I use venet because pmg appliance only works with venet, but if I use venet I can't ping my mailserver and I can't acsess the web intrafce of pmg.
