I have been tinkering with this for some time. I am reasonably convinced that using lzo compression when backing up an XP KVM system using vzdump no longer succeeds.
The failures started about the first week in May 2018.
I can backup an XP system without compression or with gzip. I can backup a Windows 7 KVM and containers using lzo.
When I try to use lzo compression with an XP KVM the backup always fails (refer to linked forum thread).
The backups are stored on three different remote NFS backup servers. While latency and connnectivity could be issues, I only see the backup fail when using lzo compression with an XP KVM. The XP systems are raw and not qcow2. The backups are performed at night when there is much less network demand.
I did not find anything obvious in a forum search.
The gzip compressed backups are working with the XP KVM, but I am curious if anybody else has seen a similar behavior or might have a possible explanation.
Thanks again.
