Unfortunately, that does not seem to work for shared storage. We did some tests, but that is a blocker.

Any new developments on this topic?

I tested thin provisioning on LVM shared storage on an iSCSI LUN and it seems to work.
Maybe I'm missing something.

Can you explain in a few details why this is a blocker?
I wouldn't want to hit the same dead end.

You cannot use that with shared storage (does not work by design).

libvirt provides "sanlock" exactly for this, to avoid the ugly clvm.

it just needs one shared fs (nfs prefered) to distribute the locks on all machines
