I have an LVM volume group with virtual machines images. Can I create LVM thin pool in the same volume group and add it as a separate storage? Is it safe?
Is this a local VG used by a single Proxmox VE node, or is it shared between multiple nodes?
If it is a local VG used by a single node and has sufficient unallocated space, creating an LVM-thin pool in the same VG as the existing standard LVM LVs may be an option.
The following similar discussion may also be helpful:
during installation were defined the 2 datastores as LVM.
It was only discovered afterwards that no snapshots are possible.
What options are there for converting these datastores to LVM-thin and preserving the installation of the two VM machines?
