Hi all,
First of all I'm quite new to Proxmox, still enjoying the phase of learning.
So I moved from Freenas over to Proxmox a couple of days back, what I chose to do was to start by setting up pfSense to handle routing and then I set up freenas with HDDs passed through and set up my "old" environment inside a virtual machine on Proxmox. I know this isn't the most efficient way to handle my drives etc but for now I'm up and running.
To my issue: I can't seem to get more than 3 streams playing reliably from the machine, regardless if it's in the original Freenas Jail or in a newly spun up ubuntu CT. My CPU utilization peaks around 10-15% so that's not the bottle neck. The Ubuntu 16.04 CT I spun up is running of an SSD so that's not my issue either. Ram isn't maxed out for either VM either. What could be my bottle neck here?
Specs:
Xeon 1245v5
32gb DDR4 ECC
