Have had ProxMox running for several months with no issues until today. Using same LinuxPAM root account since inception, it's now failing. I did enable TOTP last week and it's been fine until today, so figured there may be a timing issue. It takes the name/password - spins on the TOTP - then fails, so guessing it's TOTP.

I have 32gb RAM - 1TB SSD - 4VMs and 4 LXCs running providing services to my local network, so can't just arbitrarily reboot under it without shutting them down first.

I can SSH into the linux box no problem as root and/or as my own linux admin user with root/sudo privs. Can not log into the ProxMox GUI with either the root (w/TOTP) or regular (Without TOTP). However, my user.cfg only has the original root user in the list, so that could explain second user not accessing GUI.

user:root@pam:1:0:Shane:Cooper:xxxxxxxxx@protonmail.com::x:

(User is x'd out in above email, but it's a real email)

pveversion
pve-manager/8.1.4/ec5affc9e41f1d79 (running kernel: 6.5.11-8-pve)

Also tried $pveum add user
-bash: pveum: command not found

Double checking $last - nothing unusual in logs for days - only login records of root are myself from the internal ip address from laptop pretty much exactly when I've logged in and nothing raising a red flag.

So - need to reset root@pam to no TOTP (guessing) and/or need to generate a user just for PVE on linux through SSH -or- add the pveum tool.

Looking for suggestions on how to accomplish either of these. Not finding anything in documentation for removing TOTP and the add user tool is not responding.
