kubuntu 8.10....AAAAAAAAAAARGGGGGGGGGGHHHHH

I've installe kubuntu 8.10 on a VM and it works fine, but every 30/40 minutes it freezes,
now i'm testing disabling laptop-mode and whatever is unnecessary for the system to work...

Anyone had the same problem?

4 cpu

2 gigs of ram

kernel 2.6.27-9-server

disabled apm and other nice things
