Hi

I think I have killed the server and could do with some help.

Proxmox is build on a debain box as hosting company did not support a proxmox image. Server been working great but I had to change the hostname. After a reboot I am no longer able to login to the front end and if I try to start or list the vm's from the command line qm list or qm start 100 it says they do not exist

Can anyone help me out here before I get shot by the boss

Thanks

Glenn

did you also change the hostname in /etc/hosts?

Hi

Yes changed in /etc/hosts and then ran hostnamectl set-hostname and once rebooted pvecm updatecerts

Thanks

Glenn

what does
Code:
systemctl status pveproxy pvedaemon pve-cluster
say?

Ok renamed back to original server and re-run pvecm updatecerts.

Up and running again although under datacentre it shows the name twice now and original vm's can't be accessed, I have restored from backup. Any ideas how I remove the 1st name that has the red x against it.

Thanks

Server been working great but I had to change the hostname.

I'd like to know why you have to change the hostname at all? The hostname in Linux is purely internal, so no external relevance. I'm running several PVE boxes with internal hostname != external hostname.
