Kernel Source?

Been running my proxmox box for a week, and it's doing very well so far!

One minor annoyance though... for full Asterisk functionality, I need to compile the zaptel kernel module on the host node, then grant access on the guest...

I tried using general 2.6.24.5 kernel source but can't seem to make zaptel compile... keeps wanting the sources for the 2.6.24-5-pve kernel...

Is there an easy way to accomplish that?

Hi,

I'm assuming you are using openvz for this, as you need the module, and can't compile you own kernel.

Go and try out the KVM feature in proxmox, and compile your own kernel with the zaptel support....

Simply install our kernel header package

# apt-get install pve-headers-2.6.24-5-pve

NOTE: use a 64bit openvz guest (we observed problems on 32bit guests)

FYI: We also run asterisk inside a 64bit openvz VM. We only use ztdummy, and that works great so far.

Unfortunately, my Atom CPU doesn't support VT so the option seems to be disabled in the web interface...

Does KVM/QEMU really require a VT enabled CPU? Like for example, my asterisk CT is a all-in-one package (PBX in a Flash)... I wouldn't be running Windows/Solaris/ect.... ?

ok... was hoping it would simple like substituting QEMU to KVM...

In any event, the compilation of the modules went perfectly with the headers! Unfortunately, I had a i386 CT so any details on the issues you experienced with the 64bits / 32 bits difference would be appreciated!

Thanks for all your help

seems to be a ioctl 32/64 bit problem. I simply cant get it to work on 32 bit.
