I would also like to switch to 2.6.29, but ...
Seems that OpenVZ still now know whats there next stable release.

I have compiled a 2.6.27 kernel with openvz patch these days and at a first look...
But if 2.6.18 is only supported why 2.6.24 is existed for proxmox ve? We can suppose that 2.6.24 and 2.6.27 is in similar development state "development, maintained".
Then question is how hard could be build 2.6.27 openvz kernel for proxmox ve. "Officially" for testing as option same as 2.6.24 or "unofficially" for people manual compiled if they have interest in newer version.
Just do it if you have enough spare time - we simple do not have the resources. But you will never get the same status as 2.6.24, which is in use for about 2 years and is very well tested.
