I've been trying to migrate a physical Ubuntu 9.10 karmic system to a Proxmox OpenVZ container. As I haven't found any specific tutorials I've had to adapt from the OpenVZ wiki with the main differences coming from the inittab changes (no inittab in karmic but an init folder instead) and the /dev folder.
I've managed to boot the machine and I think I am more or less there but I am completely stack with two issues that I'm not sure how to approach:

- I have a network.conf in /etc/init but when I boot the machine I have no network. If I /etc/init.d/network start they come up and services seem to start operating but not on the automatic reboot.

- I have some issues with my terminal. If I start MC (midnight commander) on the console I can't use arrow keys, Ctrl C or others. For down arrow I get a "^[OB". No Function keys either F3 produces "`[OR". I still have to test if the rest of the system is stable enough but this is forcing me to forget about the migration and having to reinstall and reconfigure from the base template.

I imagine it would have to do with some of the devs but this is beyond my knowledge now and haven't found any specific how-to for Ubuntu either.

Any help or links would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
