So i have 2 hosts in a cluster and all was working fine in my lab. Until.... I decided to change the management network and lost communication with one of the host. So i reconnected to the cluster via the second host and indeed it no longer can talk to the other host.
So when I hook up a monitor and a kb or login via virtual console of my idrac, when I try to login as root it does not work since the session timesout since my root password is 58 character long. So you can imagine it takes me a while to enter the password since I have no way of knowing it by heart. and copy paste is not possible.

What are my work arounds? anyone has a clue how i can login to then fix my network issue?

so to resume my root password is 58 character long and when I enter Login: root then i hit enter it prompts for password and when i hit about 40 characters the terminal resets back to login:

will follow that hehe

You could temporary change your second host, or any other client to the old network settings so you can SSH into the problem host. You could even direct connect a cable between a laptop and problem host.

You could reset root password to something less lengthy: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Root_Password_Reset
