Greetings everyone, putting a bit of context before i get burned for my ignorance I'm a carpenter that enjoys playing around with tech related stuff, coming down from a Homeassistant rabbit hole led me to virtualisation:
1- I have an HP desktop machine hosting Proxmox, IP 192.168.1.10, Gateway 192.168.1.1;
2- Proxmox is hosting a Windows Server 2019 VM, ip 192.168.1.30, Gateway 192.168.1.1, RDP port 9000;
3- Windows Server 2019 is hosting a windows 10 VM through Hyper-v, ip 192.168.1.35, Gateway 192.168.1.1, RDP port 9001;
4- Windows 10 VM uses virtual NIC based of the Windows server 2019 NIC set as external;
5- I have a laptop that's connected to the same router as all the above machines, ip 192.168.1.50, gateway 192.168.1.1;
6- I can RDP from laptop (or any device on the network) to the Windows Server 2019 VM and Windows 10 VM as long as Proxmox Windows 2k19 VM firewall is not active;
7- I can only RDP from Laptop (or any device on the network) to the Windows Server 2019 when the Proxmox firewall is active, can't RDP to Windows 10 VM that's inside Hyper-V;
8- I have made rules on the said Firewall for ports:
- drop all in and out traffic;
- Exceptions: In -- proto: TCP, destination port: 9000,9001,135,443,5985,5986,5504.
9- All machines are directly connected to the same router with cat6 RJ45 cables.
10- DHCP IP scheme is 192.168.1.X with router being 192.168.1.1
11- Yes i'm talking about RDP (remote desktop using mstsc.exe command)
12- My conclusion is my firewall blocking traffic to the win10 Vm.
Thanks in advance to everyone for taking time to read this.
