Hello all,

I have a physical server that I am going to virtualize on Proxmox. It has an iSCSI mount to my NAS for storage. Now that I will virtualize this do I continue to mount the the NAS storage via iSCSI in the VM or can I mount it to the Proxmox server and then share it out to the VM? What is the best way to do this?

Thanks,
Steve

Hi @spetrillo ,

There is no "best" way per say. Both approaches have their own merits. You have to look at a bigger picture of what works best for this particular disk/application in the long term.
At the same time, you should be able to switch if needed later.

Cheers

Hi @bbgeek17 ,

Thanks for the quick response. Ok so it can be either. Since I know how to do it in the vm I am going to hold to it. As you mentioned, if I need to change it down the road I can.

Thanks!
