iSCSI on Proxmox 2.0

Hey folks, I've been doing some quick searches here but I'm not finding an easy answer to my question.

I've installed Proxmox 2.0 to a system and I'd like to have my VM storage be an iSCSI target. With ESXi and with Proxmox 1.9, I can just have a single, large iSCSI LUN, and create multiple VMs that take up bits and pieces of the space. With Proxmox 2.0, it seems that the only way to use iSCSI is to create a LUN for each VM I want to create, and each VM will take up 100% of the space allocated by the LUN. Is this correct? Was it intentional?


Also, awesome work with the new interface, and with the project as a whole. I am just hammering out a few details here and there. I look forward to the day I can stop using ESXi.

No, that is not correct. The storage model is still the same as in 1.9.

Excellent, that's what I was hoping for. So, how does one use the 1.9 model? Currently the only way my Proxmox install uses iSCSI is the way I described. The only option I can see that could possibly change it is the "Use LUNs directly" checkbox. Which I have tried checked and unchecked with the same result.

You need to create an LVM storage on top of a LUN (use the LUN as base). Exaclty the same way as in 1.9.

NO, you can do that on the GUI.
