In the Multipath documentation:
https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/ISCSI_Multipath

Under the Vendor specific settings for Dell, the very last line says:
"And you need to configure a suitable filter in /etc/lvm/lvm.conf in order to avoid error messages."

But that has no explanation or example or anything! How do I find out what a suitable filter would be?

I suspect that the goal is to exclude your dell/multipath devices from LVM scan, so the Hypervisor LVM does not detect VM created LVS and cause havoc.
The example of the filter is at the bottom of the config file on your system:
Code:
devices {
        global_filter=["r|^/dev/bbpve/|", "r|/dev/zd.*|"]
}
