Is it possible to have Proxmox and an OS together (separate setup)?

I am totally new to Proxmox. I have a question. I have a computer with two Hard Disks. On the first one I have Windows 10. The second hard disk is totally available. Can I install Proxmox on the second one and keep Windows on the first one in order to decide what I want to use when I start the machine? If so is Proxmox going to compromise my W10 for a separate use?

I have done this myself, and i swap between the two using the boot menu or bios. i have done this to experiment with proxmox and see if it's something I'll use more of. If its something i intend using more of, i'll probably invest more in subscription and hardware. I don't think there's anything you need to watch out for, apart from using the correct drive of course, and enable the virtual stuff in the bios... Vt-x & Vt-d

Thank you for answer. We see eye to eye. I am interested in an hypervisor 1 but I don't know if it's worth it to invest money in hardware so I thought hey I have an hard disk getting dust let's figure out something. Anyway thank you for sharing your experience my friend. Your post was gold to me!
