Is Clustering servers on different locations possible?

I would like to know if it is possible to cluster servers on two different networks and locations but with public ip addresses.

Yes you can do it.. however how fast things migrate, or install will depend on how big your pipe is.

Once you have the heads running the VMs you require, it should be just fine. However bringing up the console for a remote server might be a little slow.

The link between the cluster heads is over a VPN connection which is setup automatically.

I tried to connect two clusters and it does not work.
There is a network and time setting issue. I wish i could resolve that.
I am just an accidental sysadmin.

I am in NYC and I have two servers in a data center each with a 100mbps connection. About 7 miles away I have a couple of boxes home on a 50/20mbps connection.
I wanted to use the home servers for mirroring the sites and keep the control of my user base in a more secure environment. I guess I will just setup two identical sites and still use the database replication features.

Dietmar and Team did such a good job of making us so lazy that we just want to have it all with a few clicks. I blame you for that Sir....LOL

Your best bet for that would be to use the snapshot backups of the images and then sync those back to your house or where ever.


You can make the snapshots run when ever you like..
