Hello all,
We installed a virtual machine (client) in our network. It should start through xpe. (load a linux bootingprogramm, as in our Network.)
When it starts, it makes a request to get the IP-address. In the log of the server you can see the request and correct IP delivery. Afterwards there is another question (DHCPNAK) for a different specific IP address within the range, not permitted, and we can't work out where it comes from. With this address the VM is always rebooting.
To stop the rebooting you have to interrupt ixpe with [strg]-b . (it expects an ixpe command and the stop-vm works in this situation)
There is an error message in the task list, telling me that "Failed to run vncproxy".
We updated our proxmox.
Friends using the same installation running with no problem.
We checked all the options and settings to be the same. (no change of behavior)
So we tried with their client - vm in our system, (backup / restore).
Unfortunately the same problem occurs.
We don't know why the offered IP-address ist not used and where is the provider of the other IP delivery.
Is there a sort of DHCP in Proxmox? Or do we have to set something to accept the defined IP address from the DHCP of our server.
Or is there a problem with the console of the Proxmox?
At the end of our wisdom, hope someone can assist with ideas, or other assistants.
As teachers we are running always on low time for the school system.
Feel a bit sorry not having experience with forums (for e.g. putting in screenshots or appending files with information).
Thanks in advance.
Walter and Arne
