Hi,

I want to setup a proxmox cluster. My Servers all have a Nic for Internet and a Bonded Nic for the storage Backbone which is a lot faster.

So I want proxmox to do all migrations and copies via the private storage network 10.x.x.x.

What ist best practice, should I configure the 10.x address as primary proxmox adress and cluster member and use the other nic for vms ? I am not sure, since the 10.x network is bonded and i think proxmox configures a bridge on the primary nic and i dont know how a bridge behaves on bonded devices.

Or can I simply use the internet ip for proxmox and tell it to do migrations via the storage network ?

AFAIK this works (10.x.x.x --> vmbr0 --> bond0).

Then create a second bridge for your VMs.
