Hello All,
I'm a happy Proxmox user since version 1.2, but I haven't written in the forum till now. So, Hello Everybody!
I'm testing the new version 2.0-RC1, and I'm having some questions about it. Maybe someone could help me with them:
1. All my VMs are running under Proxmox 1.8. In order to migrate them to Proxmox 2.0, should I perform any other task appart copying the related files to the proper locations (for example "/var/lib/vz/images/115/vm-115-disk-1.qcow2" and "/etc/qemu-server/115.conf") on the new server with Proxmox 2.0-RC1? I mean if apart the copy of the files, you MUST run any command to adapt/migrate/upgrade them to the new version of Proxmox?
2. Relating to the disk format for the VMs (which is currently qcow2 all of them), is the qed new disk format sufficiently stable to migrate it to? I ask that because I didn't saw it on the Central Web-based Management, BUT on the qemu-img console utility the option to convert a virtual disk to qed format exists.
That's all by now. Thanks in advance for your support and help.
Finally, I can only thank Proxmox Server Solutions GmbH for their wonderful work! More and more people are migrating from VMware, Xen, etc. to Proxmox. Proxmox is becoming over time the real alternative in virtualization solutions. No doubt about it.
All the best,
Olivier
