We have a test lab and it is exactly just that. It is just machines that we use to test various things. So not really worried about backing it up or making sure I have redundancies, etc. I just started using proxmox a little more and really starting to like it. I have an Intel Xeon 4210 currently set up with two processors and 384 gig of RAM. We also get machines that we dispose of and at times can keep them for other machines. I am going to use the second machine for a cluster but I was curious on one thing. Is proxmox better off with more Coors and threads or less Coors and threads but more frequency? The 4215R processor has less Cores and threads but says it's a newer CPU and faster. Like I said I will probably run both but looking at which one should be my main one that I would get the best benefit from. Both are Lenovo think station 720s and both have dual CPU and 384 gig of RAM. Appreciate the assistance

Even with more cores, the single-core clock speed differs by as much as 1GHz, so I believe the 4215R outperforms it in both single-threaded and multi-threaded performance, as well as bus bandwidth?
