Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200: Firmware Install Help

I am looking for help installing the firmware for this new Intel wifi+bluetooth device Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200: https://devicehunt.com/view/type/pci/vendor/8086/device/2723

GOAL: Set up working wifi and bluetooth with the AX200 intel combo device in Proxmox host 6.2-10 by installing the correct and latest firmware.

PROBLEM:

1. ibt-20-1-3 firmware is loaded instead of newer ibt-20-1-4 firmware.
2. Even when ibt-20-1-3 is found, it fails with dmesg message: Bluetooth: hci0: Failed to send firmware signature (-38)

BACKGROUND:

• The firmware is not included yet in debian latest iwlwifi package (no AX200 listed here): https://packages.debian.org/buster/firmware-iwlwifi
• The firmware is available here, with latest being ibt-20-1-4: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/firmware/linux-firmware.git/tree/intel

STEPS TAKEN TO INSTALL FIRMWARE:

• Copied ibt-20-1-4.ddc and ibt-20-1-4.sfi files from git tree above to /lib/firmware/intel
• Ran update-initramfs -k all -u
• Reboot pve node

I don't even use Proxmox, but I came across your post while trying to fix issues with bluetooth dying / working sporadically with the same AX200 chipset bluetooth/WiFi6 adapter. Mine is an EDUP adapter that I bought on eBay, probably the same at heart as whatever brand you're using.

Since the firmware you were able to locate and were nice enough to post (thanks for that!) fixed the issues with the bluetooth adapter for me in an Ubuntu distro on kernel 5.4.0-42-generic, I thought I'd respond and tell you how to "install" it.

To compile the firmware do the following:
Extract to some path > change directory to that path > sudo ./make install

That's it. Good luck.
