Intel QAT VF setup for Atom C3000

Like many, I bought one of the Qotom C3000-based appliances that have come down in price this past year.

I'd like to setup QuickAssist using VFIO. Intel's setup procedures seem fraught with peril.

Making QAT work for ZFS would be ideal, but is extra-challenging for now, so I'll stick with using VFIO and providing some VFs to a guest.

Has anybody gotten this setup using VFs and not just blacklist and passthrough?

That's not installing the non-driver portions. Intel has a systemd service (qat.service or qat_service depending on version) that sets sriov_numvfs so that you don't need to do that manually on each restart.
