having a Intel Corporation 82576 Gigabit Network Connection card in a ProLiant MicroServer Gen8.
Everything was ok with a 6.14.11-4-pve and previous kernel , but when I upgrade to 6.17.2-1-pve, I get a "probe with driver igb failed with error -5" when trying to probe the card igb module in the kernel, and my network is enable work... :-(
I tried to upgrade to 6.17.2-2-pve : same problems.

Tried to fix with pci=nomsi pcie_aspm=off, in grub config file...not better...

Return to previous kernel until a solution is found...

Thanks for help

Note that a new igb intel drivers as been release the 21th of november 2025...may be a know problem....

Stay on 6.14.11‑4‑pve until Proxmox merges the updated igb driver from Intel, it's a known issue.

If you have a support plan, open a ticket and inquire about this too.

want to confirm I have the same issue on a DELL R630 with Intel LAN 0C63DV adapter - it is even worse, it goes directly into reboot as soon as "igb" driver initializes on kernel 6.17.4-pve in VE9.1 with "CPU error" - but still works well without issues on 6.14.11-4-pve
