Hi All,

I'n new here and i have succesfully installed Proxmox with Ceph inside Virtualbox.

So i want to build the following (3x):

Mainboard + CPU: ASRock Q1900-ITX with Intel Celeron J1900
Memory: Dual Channel 16GB total
HD (OS): SSD 16GB
HD (DATA, Ceph): 3TB SATA 600
HD (DATA, Ceph Journals): 32GB SSD (fast as possible)
PSU: Pico PSU 60watt

My main goal is to get much power of less energy. But will the above system give me enough power for my little lab? Will it ever work with Ceph en Proxmox?

I really appreciate if you give your appinion.

With best regards,

Rolf

If you are putting everything in one box, then dont use Ceph. Using Ceph with just one drive defeats the purpose of Ceph as distributed file system and you will not get any performance out of it. Out of the box it wont even work with one HDD unless you are thinking of partitioning to put several OSDs on same HDD. But in that case you will really really suffer for the performance. How many virtual drive did you use in your VirtualBox for ceph?
