Hi, how is the Proxmox compatibility with 12th gen intel hardware?

Is it recommended for high performance per core?

We got some workstations with an i7-12700K CPU here, running Proxmox VE just fine.

Some advanced thread scheduling stuff may only get in with switching the kernel to a new base version, but the essentials was either already in the 5.15 release or got backported, so they run pretty good. But Lnxbill is right (not literally with the name, I figure that was rather jokingly), for enterprise setups you may want to wait for the availability of Sapphire Rapids Xeon models.

IME the biggest benefit of the new workstations is using DDR5 RAM, memory bandwidth/latency can be often a limiting factor, so getting that bumped up is quite helpful, and FWIW, DDR5 prices are already a lot better than they were in 2022/Q1. The Workstations with alder lake run quite well in other aspects too, not just memory - switching from a few generations back is quite nice. Also looking forward to what AMD will release in the fall with the new AM5 based socket.
