Installing Python on a PVE host... anything I need to be aware of?

A quick google and scrolling through some forum posts doesnt have me too worried... yet.
I wanted to ask about installing python on my host to help with some automation tasks... I could also just figure out how to do these tasks in bash... but I'd like to dabble a bit in python too.

first stask- I couldn't get the NUT server/client shutdown functionality working so I got something working in python and would love to consolidate it to just the host so I can have one script in one spot shutdown things in the order I'd like.

Are there any "gotchas" with python in PVE?

thanks in advance!

edit: I actually think I might just put all this stuff on a Pi that the UPS is plugged into and just ssh into the pve host and do things that way...
