Usually you configure your firewall to forward mails to the proxmox gateway. Or you simple change the MX record.

Please take a look at the deployment guide.

and then Proxmox forward it to our mail server

we use ibm domino 7 on all our mail servers

You need to add 'smtp transports' for those hosts (Configuration/MailProxy/Transport).

static (inside, outside) tcp interface smtp 172.16.1.251 smtp netmask 255.255.255.255

but this rule will forward all smtp traffic to the proxmox gw i think
if we need to forward smtp for one domain to proxmox gw

Then you need to uses a different external IP address for that domain. Why dont you filter all domains?

i think it would be better to use mx to also use the redundancy in feature

in mx record all u do
is to edit the domain mx recoreds points to proxmox gw
am i correct
