Hello all,

I actually got a vmware installation with Dell M630 lame in m1000e chassis for computing and a Dell SCv2020 for storage (connected each other with fiber channel).

I'm in the process of migrating all my vm's from VMware to proxmox, here is the base plan :
- Add new datastore with new drives in the SAN SCv2020
- Install proxmox on 2 brand new M630 server
- Configure SAN datastore as shared storage for my new pmx cluster
- Transfert data from vmware vm to fresh installed proxmox kvm

I would like to know if anybody as already done such migration and could give me some advices, mainly on how I should configure my shared storage to use the SAN. Is there any incompatibility/known problems I should be aware of ?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

I would like to know if anybody as already done such migration and could give me some advices,

mainly on how I should configure my shared storage to use the SAN.
You can use LVM shared on the SAN, this gives you the opportunity to live migrate, HA but no snapshots.
s there any incompatibility/known problems I should be aware of ?
If Linux work on this bundle Proxmox VE will also have no problems.
