I’m planning to install the latest version of Proxmox VE 9 with ext4 on the hardware configuration listed below, but I’m concerned about whether the PERC H965i RAID card is compatible. If anyone has already installed it or has experience with this, I’d really appreciate your advice. In addition, I will be using a PowerStore storage array with a Fibre Channel setup. Thank you!

Server Dell R760:
- 2 x Intel® Xeon® Gold 6430 2.1G, 32C/64T
- 64GB Memory x 16
- 2.5" Chassis with up to 8 NVMe HWRAID Drives, Front PERC 12, 2 CPU
- PERC H965i with rear load bracket
- C33, RAID 1 with NVMe
- 02 x 960GB Data Center NVMe Read Intensive AG Drive U2 Gen4 with carrier for install Proxmox OS
- Broadcom 57414 Dual Port 10/25GbE SFP28, OCP NIC 3.0
- QLogic 2772 Dual Port 32Gb Fibre Channel HBA, PCIe Full Height, V2

I think you'll find the "purists" will say lose the RAID controller and passthrough to Proxmox.

I'm not a purist ;)

I have 2 servers (similar hardware specs but a gen older) and both run the hardware RAID. It just presents one large drive to Proxmox during install and sure, I don't have the benefits of ZFS, but it balances what I know with the time I have to learn new stuff. No issues with Proxmox or any complaints for using my RAID controller.
