Install Proxmox before TPM chip is in?

Before I knew (and I'd just learned only very recently) that TPM chips could be virtualized, I assumed you needed a phyiscal module present. I recently switched motherboards in a server chassis. The last part I'm waiting on is the TPM chip. Should I wait until after I get it installed, to perform the OS install, or will it not make a difference to do the Proxmox install and add the TPM chip later?

Thank you in advance!

Hello akulbe,

I assume your question is related to Proxmox VE and not Proxmox Backup Server. (If yes: this is the wrong sub forum)

I assumed you needed a phyiscal module present.
You do not need one. You can always virtualize TPM without a physical chip.
