I will setup a Proxmox VE on a dedicated server with the following specs on OVH.
AMD EPYC 4344P - 8c/16t - 3.8GHz/5.3GHz | 64GB DDR5 5200MHz | 2× 960GB SSD NVMe Soft RAID | 1Gbps Port
VM's:
- 1 Critical cPanel Server (8vCPU, 12Gb RAM, 500Gb Disk)
- 2x Windows Server with ISS and MS SQL (Each will have 4vcpu, 12Gb RAM, 200Gb Disk)
I'd like to have a Proxmox Backup Server on another provider with one of Contabo's Storage VPS + cPanel on the following specs.
- 12 vCPU, 32 GB RAM, 4TB SSD, 1Gbps port.
- 2 Storage Partitions, 1Tb for cPanel and PBS Installation, and 3Tb for PBS backup storage.
- cPanel will only have minimal users with 5-10 domains for basic website sand
- The cPanel and PBS system will be backed up on the PVE storage.
Can I install PBS on Almalinux with cPanel or the only choice is Debian?
Has anyone done this? Will there be no conflicts or issues with cPanel when running along side with PBS on the same OS?
Is this setup better than having a PBS VM inside the PVE then mounting the storage remotely from another provider?
I just want to make sure I can restore back the VM's the soonest possible time with relying on a. single provider.
