I have tried to install Ubuntu 17.04 with EFI Support in Proxmox 5.1. When I boot into the VM for installation I get no VNC.
The error shown in NoVNC is: "Guest has not initialized the display (yet)".

works fine here,

can you post the vm config and recheck your ubuntu iso ?

Here my vm config:

bios: ovmf
boot: dc
bootdisk: scsi0
cores: 1
efidisk0: data:vm-103-disk-2,size=128K
ide2: local:iso/ubuntu-17.04-desktop-amd64.iso,media=cdrom,size=1571328K
memory: 1024
name: ubuntu
net0: virtio=9E:D8:0E:0D:AE:5D,bridge=vmbr0
numa: 0
ostype: l26
scsi0: data:vm-103-disk-1,size=40G
scsihw: virtio-scsi-pci
smbios1: uuid=832c1346-ebeb-48fb-92d3-7efa2f272a90
sockets: 2

When I boot with seabios selected, I get a VNC picture with the started Ubuntu installer.
