influence of replication and snapshot rollback in a cluster

if I do a snapshot and install something but install failed and i do a rollback and do a second install wich works fine. Next morning the new installed software was away, and the older version of the installed software did not run fine. so I did an other rollback. And everything works fine again but with the state of the snapshot as expected.
Is there a best practice for snapshots, rollback and replication.
runing Version 8.4.16
