Hello

we've started to setup and test infiniband , and are at the point of doing rsync speed tests. we're doing tests with hpn-ssh [ http://psc.edu/index.php/hpn-ssh ] and rsh to try to minimize cpu / ssh / encryptoin issues.

what I'd like to know is what others are getting for transfer rates on dumps.

using ' atop ' we are finding the slow point to be disk writes. our storage setup is 3ware raid-10 getting read from, and sending backups to a 3ware raid-1 . obviously 2 disk needs to get written to and that is not efficient for maximizing disk writes speed.
so if anyone is using infiniband please post information on storage type and transfer speeds.

I'll spend some time trying to match or excede those rates , then put more info to wiki.

Do you compile hpn-ssh package yourself, or does somebody provides debian packages?
