Import Hyper-V VM Using Differences Disks and Checkpoints

I am in the process of moving my home setup from Hyper-V 2012 to Proxmox, I am a Proxmox newbie and also not a strong Linux administrator.

I have a Windows virtual machine that uses VHDs (not VHDX). I set it up with a base syprepped image and then personalised it using a difference disk. On top of this there are some checkpoints (.avhd files).

I would like to import this VM into Proxmox but I don't know how to do it and can't find anything that tells me.

I suppose I could collapse everything into a single VHD if I really had to, but I would like to know if there is a way to preserve the difference disk and the checkpoints on top of that.

Is this possible?

Maybe you can convert the base VHD and any differencing disks into RAW format using "qemu-img", preferably after merging all Hyper-V checkpoints into a single VHD for simplicity.
