Hi,

Like many people, I am trying to get up to speed on Proxmox due to changes put in place by VMware's latest owners. With the first requirement being affordable test equipment.

If anyone else is trying to source nodes at the moment you may want to take a look at the Minisforum UN100D, which seems to be on sale at the moment. This has a N100 processor, 16GB RAM, 512GB NVME SSD, 2 x 2.5Gbit network ports and space for a 2.5" SATA drive.

In the UK at the time of writing, they can be purchased from Minisforum for £229 or Amazon for £189.

3 of these with a 2.5Gbit switch and some 2.5" SSDs I had from past systems make a nice little cluster with Ceph support and very low power draw when idle.
