Hi
I running now manual a backup of my VM from my two Proxmox server.
Right now I have to edit the Comment/Notes to write the name of my VM so I can see which is which.
Both of my proxmox have ID 100 and above as ID (Not so good idea I know but did not think about it then) so is it some easy way to know which backup is which VM.
Or do I still have to edit Comment/Notes?

/Update
It does look the backup have problem if that is two VM that have same ID.
I did run a backup from Proxmox server 1 that have a VM with ID 101 and when I did try to run a backup from Proxmox server 2 it show VM that have 101 have already a backup.

I was thinking maybe change the ID of VM from Proxmox server 2 from (100+ to 200+) but what I have read that is not so simple.

You could backup a VM and then restore it using another VMID. You only will be asked if you want to use another VMID when doing the restore from the backup storages backup tab and not when doing the restore from the VMs backup tab.

You also might want to check the manual of the qm command if there is command to directly change the VMID without doing a back and restore.
