I cant type in passwords

In all of my Vms I cannot type in my passwords using the main viewport or whatever. I can only access my vms through the separate command lines. Is this my fault through the set up or am I doing something wrong. Also I didn't know where to put this so I put it here.

In the main access to the vm, I was trying to log into many different operating systems, Ubuntu, and Debian. When trying to log in I could type in my credentials for making my account, but after rebooting the vm and typing in my username I couldn't type in the password at all I could type letters or numbers, for both operating systems.

I think we haven't got enough details from you to understand the issue. If you can't describe it, maybe post screenhots?
