Hi,

New user to proxmox and am having a few problems with stability.

If try to look in disks menu section in node menu section or after a random amount of time (usually overnight), the web ui gradually stop responding and root shell shows hanging tasks.

Shutting down via ssh takes ages as it waits for all the hung tasks:

task:vgs state:D stack:0 pid:5632 tgid:5632 ppid:3197 flags:0x00000002

Then lvm and lvs too...
Job blk-availabilty.service and job pvedaemon.service take many minutes to timeout...

In my setup I went for zfs and 2 new ssd mirrored as the boot drive and holder of virtuals.

I have only 2 virtuals so far, one is haos and the other is xpenology.

Xpenology:

This uses a lsi pcie hba passed through with 9 disks.
During boot of proxmox, all the disks on the hba give errors in dmesg:
md/raid:md127: Disk failure on sda5, disabling device.
This occurs for all on all the disks.
Also, after shutting down the xpenology virtual I notice that the hba and therefore it's attached disks are not "released"

Is that normal?

Thanks in advance for any help :)

OK, so further experimenting,,,

Reboot it all without the 9 disks attached to the hba - all worked fine (obvs the xpenology virtual was wanting some disks). clicked around the web gui storage options for the node and data center etc. No induced hung tasks...
Shutdown pve via web gui and no hangs, shutdown in a matter of seconds..

So something to do with the xpenology virtual and its 9 hba connected disks.

Anyone have any ideas? Someway to hide the disks from proxmox maybe?
