Last year some people using hugetlbfs with proxmox and kvm.

I tried it with Proxmox 1.6 and the new 2.6.32-3 kernel.
I have 2 virtual machines with 4 GB memory and 1024 pages of 2M.
It is very fast, but first booting machine eats up all the huge pages.
I`m unsure how many pages to configure.
Any experiences?
