Hi, this is probably the wrong place to post (if so, Admin please delete or move), but I wanted to give a huge thanks to those who have made this all possible. I have been an IT professional all my life, until retirement a few years ago. Since then I am still an IT hobbyist. Used VMare in my professional life, and have been using it at home for years. Now the latest V7 ESXi just won't install on my old equipment, so I looked for alternatives. Found ProxMox (thank goodness).
Installation was a doddle (after I took the trouble to read the instructions about producing a USB ISO boot. Why do we all not read the instructions fully before we start?) and I have just installed and created a new Ubuntu VM in an hour or so.
Looking forward to spending the next few years with ProxMox, looking at clustering etc . . .
Thanks, Robert
