Hello,

we are using a Proxmox Cluster with three servers and ceph.
One week ago one of these servers quited his service by blowing funny clouds and strange smell.
Now we'd like to replace this server by a new one.
Are there any best practice Dokuments on how to manage this or do you have some hints (do's and dont's)
Thanks in advance

Hi,

if the disks are ok and you have no HW raid, put all disk in the new server.
That's all.

But I would change the disk to, because may be they are also damaged.
For cloning the disk to the new one you can use Clonezilla.

Hi Wolfgang,

unfortunately we had a major crash. The dying powersupply has roasted the complete server and nearly all of its components. I never saw something like this before.
There aren't any usable components anymore from the old server.
